Right now we are working on making a promotional film for not only NASA, but also ourselves. We are hoping to have as many members as possible to submit to us a short clip of them saying 'Live long and Prosper", and we will make a compilation of them and put it at the end of the video. Anyone willing to participate let us know.

This is the monologue courtesy of klingonchick: Space: The Final Frontier. Ever since 1957, countries have been fighting to explore the vast universe around us. But isn't it about time we start working together? And whatever happened to all the kids who said they wanted to become astronauts when they grew up? Did you know, for the first time in 47 years, Astronaut is not on the top ten in dream jobs for children ages 6-12? Here's the deal: people are becoming less and less excited about such an amazing thing. Now it's up to the Star Trek fans, more commonly known as Trekkies. Already we've taken big steps to do this. Ever heard of buildtheenterprise.org? I bet not. That's why we, the members of Starfleet Initiative and our sister organization, Federation Outreach, have made this video; to get the word out about all this awesome stuff that's happening! Now ask yourself, how much do I actually know about NASA? When was the last time I heard about a major victory in space exploration on the news? Not very much and not in a while, right? Well, say you go on the internet. Research a little bit. You'll find that NASA gets about $10 billion per year, which isn't enough for all this new technology and research that is happening as I speak to you. In fact, NASA has gone through so much research on Alcubierre Drive (a.k.a. Warp Drive), that they're preparing to create a warp bubble in their labs. Do you know about Scanadu Scouts? Or how scientists have frozen light for an entire minute? All of this... It's FANTASTIC! What, exactly, is our mission, I hear you ask. Starfleet Initiative strives to one day go into space and boldly go where no man has gone before while Federation Outreach works here on Earth to make our home a better place through world-wide community service and other projects. So, if you care to join, go to starfleetinitiative.freeforums.net or federationoutreach.boards.net. Live long and prosper! Yooooo we should probably say something about privatized space companies like Space X, so even if NASA isn't getting it's funding, there are still movements in the field.
