So how do you guys want to get the word about this out? I mean, we have to let other people in somehow, right? So how do we go about doing this?

Well, on the Federation Outreach page, we've already talked about doing community service projects while wearing shirts with our undecided logo, title, information, etc. on it, but we have to know how to get around the copyright laws first. When school starts up, I help run a large club of people in fandoms. Most of us being in the Star Trek fandom, I'm 100% sure they would be willing to join.

That's really freaking awesome. I'm super excited about new recruits. I wish there were other Trekkies in my school but in my area that hardly happens. I could maybe try and tell some of my underlings at church to work hard and go to space with us.

I've set up a fb page, it should show up if you search 'the starfleet initiative', but it doesn't have much on it yet as I can only work from my phone. I will work on it more when I get home, and I am going to work on the emblem and insignia so that we don't get stuck with copyright issues and such. I think your ideas are fantastic though, I wish I lived, well not here because the chances of Trekkie here is subzero. However, I urge you to keep going with whatever you think will help! I love the idea about working with the shirts on, I have a shirt warehouse here so I could make a few from here.

I think it might be a good idea to create a network of clubs around the world at various universities and colleges (and even high schools, if you're still there). I saw that mentioned. But it doesn't just have to be fandom people-- universities are places swimming with brilliant minds-- future scientists, engineers, doctors, nurses, surgeons, leaders, communicators, airmen, soldiers, linguists, ambassadors-- you name it. People who feel like they're meant for more, and want to make a difference. Much like Random Acts of Kindness, these clubs could have the same name at every school they pop up at. Getting many minds to work together is how we will make progress. And then all the small groups across the world could report their findings back to the larger, global group online (we could even find people who are good with web design and graphics to make a more navigable/professional site). Maybe all of the clubs could be working on the same project in their respective areas! Anything to stay connected. And if not at a school, then get the word out in your community and put meetings together. When these groups meet, they could discuss, research, experiment, build, make calls, share data, make fliers, write letters, embark on peaceful projects and missions, help those in need, teach each other, maybe sometimes just hang out and watch Star Trek! Communicators could make peaceful recruits around the world and get in contact with NASA. Maybe communicators and those in business/finances could get together and seek out sponsors, funding, loopholes. Warp is possible, so physicists and engineers could put their heads together and try to jump-start the attempts at achieving it. Engineers could also draw up ship designs and make vital lists of what we're missing (which is a lot), so we know what must be achieved in the next... many many many years. Transport via "beaming" is not possible, it does not abide by the laws of physics, so there would have to be much discussion on how that vital form of transport could be replaced. Shuttles for everything? And creating food out of nothing is also not possible; but there are amazing possibilities not short of a replicator. Read some here. I don't think we could embark on a space mission in our lifetime, but with hard work and dedication, we could definitely get a Starfleet-like initiative set up for future generations. We could be the founders! Even if we're stuck on earth. People will think we're insane, yeah-- I sorta do right now. But that's fantastic. We only seem insane because we're way ahead of our times. I'm willing to do anything and everything. I'm very ambitious. So let's start to seriously thinking about this. E-mail me :3 marisajshepard@gmail.com

This is an amazing lot of writing hon, and I love every word! I actually cannot say how much I agree with everything here, I've been trying for about an hour. However about the food thing, there is such a thing as a 3D printer, and believe it or not, NASA's first project with it was to print a slice of pizza. And as far as I know it was successful.

Hi everyone!! Yes I know there is a 3D printer! It was included on the link I provided. I was just saying that a replicator is out of the question.
