This is the best design I can do right now without the tools that I need and the tools that I have. Underneath can be the words: Our mission: To make the Universe a better place, one planet at a time. For a motto I suggest... "In this galaxy there's a mathematical probability of three million Earth-like planets. And in the Universe three million million million galaxies like this. And in all that, perhaps more-- there is only one of each of us.  |

Maybe do something akin to the Olympic Rings (each one represents a continent, and they're looped together to represent unity)?

I could, but then that would be copying the Olympic insignia quite literally. Also, I think it makes sense to do other planets with Earth since our mission is for Starfleet space exploration. However, I do like your idea. Perhaps, instead of a trinity of fictional planets alongside Earth, we could have the planets of the solar system linked in a pyramid. (By the way, the only way to make a complete linked pyramid is to add Pluto  ) |

I think it should be a little simpler than the pyramid. Possibly the earth in front of the sun on the side making some kind of crescent shape. Or even just the earth surrounded closely by our current orbital telescopes and such.
But if this is for the fleet it should probably be a little different, maybe like a five point star or something.

Haha, I like it. But the main thing about our insignia should be: is it conveying our ultimate goal and what we are about?

Okay okay wait is this for the fleet or the federation because I'm pretty sure these need to be different things.
Like the fleet one should just be basic because in the show Starfleet was basically the space navy.
The Federation Outreach one needs to represent our cause and idea that earth itself needs to unify before we can unite with other sentient species.

I've been reading this thread and trying to come up with a design based on yours, and this is what I've done. Keep in mind this is only a sketch and can be changed, also it's kinda messy cause I don't have my tablet.  |
