Some notes and slight adjustments to the general design. This design is a two-piece shirt and skirt with shorts underneath. The skirt is detachable from the skirt. The skirt and sleeves can vary in length. The boots are made from Gore Tex fabric and the sole is made from EVA material. This basically means they are light yet resilient to repeated impact (ie: running, stomping out thine enemy). This also means that they happen to be practically waterproof, easy to clean, and very comfortable. The heel is 1/2-1 in in height. The boots themselves have zippers on both sides for easier removal. The boots can also be much shorter for those with thicker calves. (As suggested by spawnofspock). Males have the option of wearing the female uniform if they so choose, just as the females can wear the male uniform. In conclusion, the outfit as a whole is very customizable, designed to be modified to the comfort of the wearer.

Does it have pockets? 'Cause it should--real pockets that actually can hold stuff.

Does it have pockets? 'Cause it should--real pockets that actually can hold stuff. Haha, I totally forgot to address that! And yes, it has pockets. In the back of the skirt, there is a pocket opening that actually leads into the pocket of the shorts. The shorts also have front pockets. So, when you so choose to take off your skirt, you won't have to dig your stuff out of your skirt pockets to transfer them into your shorts pockets.

I get the feeling that the boots should have knife sheaths or something to hold extra tools. I also feel like for the shorts might not be able to carry everything we need depending on how form-fitting they are. Possibly back pockets in the shorts, but you could always lift your skirt up to get to those. Things like communicators or something of the sort should have a clip or something to just sit on our hip. Or we could of course go TNG style and put the communicators in the badges.

In the military they have certain pins on their collars to determine rank at a glance. Perhaps that could also be a communicator? The knife sheath, however, would be a pretty expensive custom adjustment, I believe. The possibility of that would have to be optional and something the wearer has to pay for themselves. Then again, it might be mandatory for those those of a certain rank when we actually get in space. (Filed Under: For Future Ideas)

Alright, I just want to throw out there that getting these uniforms is going to be a pain in the butt and very expensive. Custom clothing that's mass produced. Holy crap. you're going to gave to get professionals involved with this. Also I don't think we should be too worried about uniforms at the present moment. And when we do get started, again it's going to be hard for people to get these. So maybe we should have an informal uniform as well? Like when I was in pathfinders at my church we had our Class A uniforms (which were black pants/socks/shoes and our pathfinder uniform shirt/sash/pins and other fancy crap) and then for informal we had Jeans and a t shirt with our club logo. We could do something like that? Also I'm excited to see what you come up with for the guys!

Alright, I just want to throw out there that getting these uniforms is going to be a pain in the butt and very expensive.... Right now they would be yes. Everything would be measured and tailored and whatnot. These are intended to actually be worn aboard the ships I'm sure. It's still a job. We'll probably have regulation T-shirts or something.

Can I also just throw out here that I love the way that these aren't some ridiculously short length? These are practical.
